C.A.T.C.H. Program Overview:

C.A.T.C.H. is an acronym which stands for Coachable, Action-oriented, Timely, Collaborative and Helpful, attributes that can make an effective business-owner. Our premiere C.A.T.C.H. program has been the model and inspiration for several other entrepreneur programs offered in the Tampa Bay area. The class is delivered over a 15-week period in 2-hour weekly sessions utilizing structured instruction delivered by paid subject matter experts. C.A.T.C.H. intensively trains and coaches aspiring entrepreneurs who demonstrate that they are ready to take their business to the next level. The program is typically offered between Spring and Fall. The C.A.T.C.H. program has successfully trained over 350 entrepreneurs since the inception of its first program cohort in 2017. Some of the subject areas covered during the 15-week program are: Time Management / Record Keeping / Organizational Types of Businesses / Understanding Financial Statements / Understanding Cash Flow / Personal & Business Credit / Financing for Your Business. These are just a few of the topics taught by our subject matter consultants during the 15-week period.

Program Elements:

Application & Registration - Participants complete an online application process that confirms their readiness to start the time-intensive program. After submission, the application and the other requested information is reviewed to determine eligibility. If accepted into the program, cohort participants are provided with additional instruction regarding the start of the program.

Intensive Training – Entrepreneurs complete 30 hours of training covering 15 modules with tailor-made topics selected to meet C.A.T.C.H. goals. Each session is led by a paid subject matter expert and students have access to that facilitator for follow-up questions. Trainings take place once weekly over 15 weeks and completers will receive their C.A.T.C.H. certificate at a celebratory graduation ceremony designed to highlight the graduates.

Consulting & Capital Access Services – Each participating entrepreneur will have access to BBIC consultants to discuss business issues, particularly financing. Participants who achieve two milestones: 1. the completion of all the training and 2. the sign-off of the C.A.T.C.H. coordinator may be eligible to apply for an expedited micro-business loan of up to $5,000*.

*(Based on program capital availability)

C.A.T.C.H. participants are each required to commit $100 to pay for entry in the class. Upon satisfactory class & attendance completion, the $100 is refunded after graduation. Progress is monitored throughout the 15 weeks and students must meet all requirements before being allowed to participate in the graduation banquet and receive their certificate.

If you want to take control of your entrepreneurial destiny and learn in an environment designed with you in mind, start by applying to the Tampa Bay Black Business Investment Corporation’s premiere C.A.T.C.H. program.
