Vice President, Community Development, Wells Fargo
Machelle Maner is currently Vice President, Community Development for Wells Fargo. As Sr. Community Development Officer, she covers Southwest Florida (a ten county area). Wells Fargo’s Community Development Group and Ms. Maner are focused on the strategic development of public/private partnerships, the identification of programs available to expand lending opportunities for affordable housing and small businesses and identifying community development opportunities. In addition, Ms. Maner is responsible for investments in non-profit organizations that focus on housing, small business, and economic revitalization. She has been in banking and the financial services industry for more than 25 years with most of that time being in the Tampa Bay area community. She has held positions in both the Consumer and Commercial Banking divisions and was promoted to Vice President in 1996. Since 1994, Ms. Maner has specialized in Community programs with an emphasis on establishing community, housing and business partnerships in Southwest Florida.
In addition to other training, Ms. Maner completed a Diversity Practitioner program to facilitate Diversity training sessions. She has served on several project teams within Wells Fargo and in the Community. Currently, she serves on the Board of Directors of several Nonprofit organizations including the Black Business Initiative Fund, Tampa Bay Community Development Corporation, Minority Enterprise Development Corporation, Zion International Ministry Missions and Computer Mentors. As the former chairperson of the Financial Stability Committee of United Way Suncoast, Ms. Manor was instrumental in forming the Partners for Prosperity to increase the focus of the financial stability of all families and individuals in Tampa Bay area.
Ms. Maner is a graduate of 1995 Leadership Tampa and served as Chair of the 2000 Class for Leadership Tampa. She is also a graduate of the 1998 Class of Leadership Tampa Bay and takes pride in serving as a Past President of the Board of Directors of Leadership Tampa Bay and as Chair of the 2008-2009 Leadership Tampa Bay Class. Ms. Maner is a Past President of the Board of the Tampa Club and was the first African American woman in that role. As an encourager, she has also had many public speaking engagements with various entities in Florida and Georgia, including Keynote Speaker for the 2013 Graduating Class of Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate High School, First African Baptist Church of East Savannah and Leadership Tampa Bay/Financial Education.
Originally from Savannah, Georgia, Ms. Maner is a graduate of Savannah State University where she majored in Marketing and Management. She is very active in the Tampa Bay area fulfilling her passion of serving in the community and encouraging families and individuals. Her priorities are faith, family, then everything else.
